Haunted Attic

The old farmhouse at the edge of town had been empty for years, its windows dark and its gate sagging with rust. Unable to sleep, she knelt to look under the bed and found nothing but shadows—but when she straightened up, every photograph she’d hung earlier that day was turned to face the wall. The humming had stopped, replaced by a breathless silence that pressed against her ears. And in the mirror across the room, standing exactly where she had been seconds before, a stranger smiled back—a woman in a wedding gown stained dark around the hem, whispering Claire’s name as if reclaiming something lost.
